Second Thought

Why a second thought?

Because the first thought we hear from all over statesmen, celebrities, media barons and capitalists. We thought it was time to give a platform to other angles, to question, to dispute the conventions, or to think briefly. And third. And fourth.

So is this a blogging site?

Yes - because it is built on blogs. On the free spirit of the net. About the passion and subversion of the blogger.
No - because it's basically a network magazine about all the things that are important to our existence: culture. And society and politics. And communication. That is culture magazine. Because society is culture, and politics is culture, and communication is culture too.
.

Still, what is the difference from other sites?

On second thought came to give room for a free expression for rating or pressure from equity holders on some 'system'. Here, no foreign considerations will determine readers' interests - but we: the writers and writers, the readers and the readers, the commenters and the commenters. Social discourse calls it grass roots thinking - media growth from below, media objects and those who produce content for it. On second thought - we want to create a stage here to discuss the issues that matter to me, you, you and all of us.

Who runs the site?

Hannah Beit-Halahmi and Esti Segal - blogs who met in the space between huge conceptual conflicts and big agreements, in the wonderful place created by the blogosphere (in fact - as writers and commentators), and believed in the importance of the existence of this public space - where you can confront chapters, agree with chapters, And allow the words to change.

We combined the professional specialties of both of us, our love for the internet and the shared desire to create an interesting, diverse and challenging virtual field, we invested two months of strenuous work - and that is the result.

Why a magazine?

Because we want to talk about culture and the state of society and the media, and most of all, we want to put on the public agenda the things that are really important to the lives of us all. To enable all these, the magazine structure was chosen.

This is not another media venture with an edit that affects agendas and writers. There is actually no editing here. Not content anyway. These are completely independent blogs whose writers are free, within the site's rules and good taste, to write whatever comes to mind. In fact, the main edit is the initial choice in the categories the magazine stands for, and in embedding featured articles on the homepage.

While we have defended and set up this virtual home, its importance is its bloggers and bloggers, the content they produce, and of course the public debate that comes and follows the words of us all.
We are here to enjoy. Write, read, comment and make an impact. So thank you all, and any questions, requests, explanations and comments can be sent to "Write to us" at the top of the site.
